Summary:
Troubleshoot, repair, service, calibrate, refurbish, and install a variety of laboratory, diagnostic and therapeutic medical and physical therapy equipment.
Supervise and direct biomedical service operations such as coordination of employee labor, initiation of invoices, customer service, computer inventory software management, and technical service.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers for orders and service contracts
- Coordinate technician's job responsibilities and job assignments
- Check final work documentation of technicians
- Prepare inspection, service, and repair forms
- Document and generate formal reports for work completed
- Perform safety inspections, preventive maintenance and safety testing on medical equipment at headquarters or medical facility
- Maintain inventory and parts records
- Comply with state and federal regulations
Job Duties:
- Perform scheduled and on-demand work orders
- Insure proper operation of medical equipment using appropriate analyzers and testing methods
- Insure proper installation and de-installation of equipment
- Instruct personnel on basic use and care of equipment
Education /Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates degree in biomedical engineering or biomedical engineering technology
- 7-10 years full-time experience as a technician
- Experience with laboratory equipment is preferred
- 1-3 years full-time experience in supervisory role
Certification:
- Nationally certified CBET (Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist)
Necessary Skills:
- Soldering and de-soldering
- Use of measuring instruments such as Multimeter, Oscilloscope, Tachometer and other medical testing devices
- Basic writing and reporting skills
- Computer skills in hardware, software, and operation
- Part troubleshooting of electronic devices
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good close and distance eyesight
Essential Job Requirements:
- Valid drivers license
- Able to drive to job sites
- Good people skills
Work Environment:
- May occasionally work with hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials or chemicals.

- Reports to president of the company
